First of all, I'm keeping this here for a few days only and hope somebody will be able to provide an answer. I'm doing this because i can't think of another place to reach so many skilled modder. I'll move it to my scrubs gallery later.

Here's the problem:
I'm currently working on a new visual style, but the same problem occurs with the standard aero msstyle, too.

I can open the msstyle once, make one action (save, replace a picture, test it) and from then, I'm unable to open another msstyle. I can't save it and I can't import or export a new image. The "import, save as, open dialog" won't open anymore.
I have to restart the style builder again, then i'm able to do another action.

I worked with the style builder for some time now and everything went perfect, i can't think of anything causing this.

This problem somehow seems linked to a similar Firefox problem.
After i get the error in the style builder, Firefox can't open the "save as dialog", too and i have to restart it. Other programs like Photoshop still work flawless.

I had this error some time ago, but i just restarted my computer again and it worked again. I searched all over the internet, but couldn't find a solution yet.

God... I have the same problem. Turns out it's super common. seahorsepip's suggestion is really helping so far, so at least I'm not at a loss anymore. o_O I don't know if they're still continuing development, but it's a really tedious bug that needs to be fixed and hinders our progress. Hopefully they're fix it in the next build.

Does anyone know if this is something that occurs across all versions?

Yea, i'm really tired of working like that... I've 2 nearly finished VSs, but it's just too hard getting them done. I'm spending days for hings that usualy don't take more that a few hours :/

Right. That's hindering my progress as well. And this is the case in ALL the builds, or just the current one? Because I'd gladly see if I can find version 1.3. I'd rather deal with other bugs than this one. This is ridiculous. >_> Anyway, at least it's something that happens to everyone. So everyone knows our pain, haha.

i've checked the 1.3 allready, but it didn't worked ether. Besides the problem with the older versions is that some parts aren't named right...
The only thing we can do is hope for a fix :/

Well, that's depressing. I hope they come out with a fix soon! Although I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. o_O

I'm not even sure that they are working seriously on a new version, since windows 8 will come out soon, maybe they are working allready on a style builder for win8...

I don't think Win8 is all that different from Windows 7. Vista Style Builder is compatible with 7, so I figure maybe future versions will be compatible with 7 and 8 as well. Hopefully...
